The list is getting longer…do these celebrities realize the idea of them leaving is an incentive for many Trump supporters to get out to the polls?
George Stephanopoulos, former Communications Director for Bill Clinton’s White House, current “journalist” for ABC News says he’s moving to Australia. I’m sure he’s used his investigative reporter skills to look into Australia’s immigration policies. (This is a joke, I don’t think he has any investigative skills, just a desire to push personal opinion as facts.) Barbra Streisand is also threatening/promising to move to Australia. Or maybe Canada.
Bryan Cranston says he’s moving to Canada. I wish him luck there and hope he doesn’t plan on living there but working here. Also moving to Canada are: Neve Campbell, Chloë Sevigny, Lena Dunham, Keegan-Michael Key, Raven-Symoné, and Rosie O’Donnell.
Amy Schumer and Chelsea Handler both say they’re moving to Spain.
George Lopez is moving to Mexico. Finally someone willing to go south instead of north.
Eddie Griffin is moving to Africa. I hope he knows that’s a continent and not a country. Samuel L. Jackson is more specific, he’s moving to South Africa.
The “I’m just moving, but I don’t know geography well enough to actually name a place” are: Al Sharpton, Whoopi Goldberg, and Miley Cyrus.
Then there are those who are moving to someplace else in the US. Spike Lee is moving to Brooklyn (since Trump is a New Yorker, this seems more like an endorsement to me). There are a lot of regular people who aren’t quite clear on what’s part of the US and what is a foreign country. A USA Today analysis of tweets from August to early September last year showed 5,800 people vowing to move to Alaska and 1,500 who would move to Hawaii.
And those moving off the Earth completely: Jon Stewart and Cher (Jupiter, maybe).
Ruth Bader Ginsburg says she’s moving to New Zealand. How’s that for an incentive to vote? Another open seat on the Supreme Court for President Trump to fill!
The biggest problem with this list is that it’s too short.
Update: Do we need to move Obama to the “moving to Canada” group?
